Gratitude Cafe 2010

Each year in September the team at Te Waipuna Puawai take some time out to be grateful for our Mercy history that goes back to 24 September 1927, Dublin, Ireland when the first House of Mercy was opened.

On Friday 24th, we turned our Ellerslie Centre into a CafĂ© between 10am – 1pm and invited colleagues, funders, donors, supporters who support and work with us to make a difference in the lives of women, children, families and the vibrant communities of Glen Innes, Pt England and Panmure to enjoy our hospitality.

The only request made was to jot down one thing they were grateful for and add it to our Gratitude Wall.

The day was enjoyed by between 200 - 250 people.

At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us.
