Who we work alongside

Our Service focuses on Glen Innes, Pt England, Panmure and surrounding communities. This follows our Mercy value of being present where the greatest need is.

Around half of our client families are Maori, a third are Pasifika Peoples, and the remainder are ‘kiwi’s’, refugees and new migrants.

Our referrals come from CYFS, WINZ, HNZC, Police, health providers, schools, parishes, Ruapotaka Marae, other community agencies and whanau – either by word of mouth or self-referral.

Our clients face many challenges including domestic violence and other forms of abuse, minimal education, extreme financial stress, major health problems, disrupted relationships, inadequate housing, and post prison settlement.

Some agencies consider some of our clients as ‘beyond hope’ and ‘destined for life on a benefit’ but we see courage and resilience in their lives and embrace the opportunity to work with them. We offer a planned and supported stepping stone approach that enables our clients to achieve their vision of healthy and sustainable whanau living.
