Ko Josie Ruawhare ahau, I whakapapa to Ngapuhi/Tainui/Cook-Islands. Born and raised in the best town in NZ – Glen Innes. Māma to one, Aunty to a million kids, eldest daughter in my whānau with two fur babies Thunder & Kimichi-Soju. I am the Operations Manager for Te Waipuna Puawai.
I love working with whānau, working in the communities we serve but most importantly sharing my passion for learning & education. Learning happens everywhere we go, I enjoy talking with whānau who engage with us and hearing their experiences. Learning never stops! I love that we provide safe spaces for whanaungatanga across all our offices here in Auckland. Whether its over a cuppa tea, handing a kai parcel or visiting a programme, I love seeing and hearing feedback from whānau that they feel safe, respected, and heard.
Being able to visit all the programmes & workshops that we provide in our spaces. For Term 3, we currently have our winter bootcamp running for 6 weeks. I’ve committed myself to attending at least 2 classes this term to be amongst our wāhine and participate further strengthen my whanaungatanga with them, it’s wonderful! Such a privilege to be working for TWP.
