Anei te Whenua, Anei te Korero Maori Community Fund
The inaugural Māori Community Fund – Tāmaki supports Māori community groups to share their stories, mahi and contribution to Glen Innes, Panmure and Point England.
Up to five groups will receive a $5,000 grant to create and run an interactive stall during a three-day community event in the Glen Innes town centre.

This kaupapa brings together the stories of mana whenua and the Māori communities who have made their lives in Tāmaki.
Ngāti Pāoa and Ruapōtaka Marae are the two pou for this inaugural round. Alongside them, selected community groups will share their own stories through interactive stalls, storyboards and activities.
Who can apply?
The fund is open to Māori community groups doing mahi in:
Glen Innes
Panmure
Point England
You do not need to be an incorporated society or charitable trust. Informal collectives, kapa haka rōpū, whānau groups and marae komiti are welcome to apply.
If your group is not a legal entity, you will need to name an organisation that can receive the pūtea on your behalf.
What will your group create?
Your group will create and run an interactive stall across all three days of the event.
This is a chance for people to hear your kōrero, share their own experiences and take part in the mahi your group does.
Your stall could include:
Kōrero and kai
Hands-on activities
Photographs or recorded voices
Displays and demonstrations
Workshops
Activities led by your group
The event will take place in the Glen Innes town centre from late September into early October 2026. Exact dates will be confirmed once applications close.
What do you need to submit?
Please send us:
1. Your application form
Complete the final two pages of the application document. Short answers are welcome, and you can write your answers by hand if that is easier.
2. A one-minute video about your group
Film your video on a phone somewhere in Tāmaki that means something to your group. No editing is needed.
Tell us:
Who you are and the name of your group
How long your group has been in Tāmaki
Why this place matters to your people
What your interactive stall will be
Tamariki and rangatahi are welcome to take part in the video.
How will applications be assessed?
Applications will be reviewed by representatives from Ngāti Pāoa, Ruapōtaka Marae and Te Waipuna Puawai.
They will look for:
A strong connection to Tāmaki
A group already doing mahi in the community
Kōrero told by the group’s own people
An interactive stall the community can take part in
TWP will coordinate and administer the fund.
What happens next?
Applicants will hear the outcome within three to five working days after applications close.
Successful groups will:
Receive the $5,000 pūtea upfront
Attend one meeting before the event
Run their stall across the three event days
Take part in one reflection kōrero after the event
